About

I started Boondocks Boutique in 2010 to help advertise my eBay auctions. From there it grew to a FaceBook platform to sell jewelry and other items mostly through auctions. In January 2015 it evolved. You can still find jewelry and other items at Boondocks Boutique, but now the focus is on custom items.

My name is Joy and I live in Oakland, Mississippi, with my husband and daughter. Oakland is in a very rural county in North Mississippi hence the "Boondocks" part of the name. I graduated from Mississippi State University which coincidentally is also where I met my husband, Cody, and ended up in North Mississippi (I'm from closer to Jackson, the state capital). So if you see a disproportionate amount of MSU items please excuse me. I try to be equal opportunity for all schools, but MSU and Ole Miss fans are my largest customer base. If you don't see your school/state, please let me know. I'd love to create something for you!

My daughter, Carrie, was born August 4, 2014 and is part of the reason that Boondocks Boutique evolved. During my pregnancy my love of crafting was renewed. My mother-in-law, who operates an embroidery business, picked up on my crafting attempts and decided to enable me to take it a step farther. She bought me the machine that allows me to create most of what you'll see here.

Little Miss Carrie at Valentines - 6 months old.
